NTR Kathanayakudu

The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer released amidst great buzz, thanks to the fact that it is a biopic of Sr NTR. However, the film had a poor run at the box office.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama

Ram Charan did not get the best of starts to 2019 as his action entertainer Vinaya Vidheya Rama turned out to be a dud by all means.

F2

The second biggest hit of the year after Maharshi made the most out of the Sankranthi season. Some tummy-tickling comedy between Varun Tej and Venkatesh worked wonders for this film.

Akkineni Akhil disappointed once again with Mr Majnu, which opened to mixed reviews but failed to carry the momentum at the ticket counters.

Yatra

This film is a biopic of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. It got fairly decent reviews and managed to put up an okayish show at the box office.

Jersey

Termed as a masterpiece by a section of the audience, Jersey was appreciated for its enticing storyline and Nani’s performance.

Maharshi

None other than superstar Mahesh Babu scored the biggest hit of the year. Maharshi was benefited mainly by Mahesh’s crowd-pulling capabilities amongst families.

Sita

Bellamkonda Srinivas paired up with Kajal for the second time after Kavacham, but the end result was not much different. The film got a poor response.

Falaknuma Das

Rural drama Falaknuma Das starring Vishwak Sen and also directed by him had a very good run in Nizam region.

This is one of the surprise hits of the year. The comedy suspense thriller registered very good numbers in the overseas and domestic market alike.
