Tollywood First Quarter Report

Tollywood has seen a flurry of big new movies right from the start of the year. We have seen movies in comedy,  action, love track genres. Let us see the detailed report about the movies that have released in the first quarter.


The Pawan Kalyan- Trivikram combo bitterly disappointed the fans and cine-goers. The movie released amidst huge expectations and failed to come even close to the hype around it.


Jai Simha:

Balayya scored a super hit even with some competition from Pawan Kalyan. The movie reaped decent money and left the buyers in profits.



The horror thriller is the first real blockbuster this year. The Anushka starrer did a great job at the box office and impressed the movie-goers



Chalk surprised everyone by collecting massive money at the ticket counters, the comedy entertainer rejuvenated Naga Shourya’s career as well.


Tholi Prema:

Directed by a debutant Venky Atluri, the movie turned a super hit with pact narration and feel good love story. The movie was super hit by trade experts.



Here comes the big experimental flick that shook the industry with it’s never before content and concept. The movie hugely impressed a section of the audience but received a Lukewarm response from other section.



Sai Dharam Tej’s bad run at the box office continued with this flick as it was bashed for its routine content. It disappeared without a trace at the box office.


Touch Chesi Chudu:

Ravi Teja failed to stabilize on the success of Raja the great and followed it up with a routine flick like Touch Chesi Choodu.


Kirrak Party:

The college drama is an official remake of Kannada movie Kirrik party. The Telugu version received an average response after getting off to a good start.


Needi Naadi Oke Katha:

The realistic drama did some good business but has its own share of drawbacks. The performance of the lead cast made this movie a good hit.



Here comes our Chitti Babu. Spellbinding performance from Ram Charan, Samantha, and the other lead cast greatly helped the movie. The periodic flick is setting the box office on fire both in India and the overseas.
