‘Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL’ hit the big screens hit the silver screens amidst decent expectations. The trailer of the film promised great fun, and that built buzz to the film.
Sundeep Kishan is pinning high hopes on this comedy entertainer. Let us see how the film turns out to be.
Tenali Ramakrishna is an aspiring lawyer who keeps struggling to get any cases.
One day, he is approached by a female politician, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, to solve her case in court. Ramakrishna takes it up and eventually bails her out. Little does he know about the actual crime behind this case.
Ramakrishna realizes that he committed a big mistake and starts a journey to set things right.
Sundeep Kishan tried out comedy genre after a long time, but he is in his elements. His comedy timing is good, and so is his screen presence in the role of a typical male lead in a commercial film. He carries the emotions well.
Hansika is beautiful on the screen, and her chemistry with Sundeep is quirky. The duo shares a funny relationship in the start, but things take serious turns towards the end.
Posani Krishnamurali and Murali Sharma are seasoned campaigners. They are seen in crucial roles and provide some brief comic relief. Chammak Chandra plays a key role in the second half, and he does what is needed of him.
The director, G Nageswara Reddy, picks a tried and tested template. His narrative is a bit cliched but provides good laughs here and there. He concentrates mainly on comedy and that works in parts.
Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is top-notch. He presents the film vibrantly and colourfully. He adds a great deal of technical value to the film, as a whole.
Music and background score are good for this action entertainer. Art direction is decent, and so were the production values.
‘Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL’ is a partly decent comedy caper, with a serious second half. The film mainly banks on comedy and succeeds in this aspect in the first half. The narrative is cliched, and that takes a toll on the flow of the film. Might make up for an okayish watch this weekend.
