Performances:

Vijay gave one of his best performances in his career. He looks stylish, and his mannerism perfectly suits that of a new-age politician. He provides the film with his 100%, and this is a big threat to his fans.

Technicalities:

Murugadoss picked a strong political script for this movie and tried to add his own spin to it. But he misses the target by a margin as things go wayward after a point. Many scenes look like they were simply forced in.

Music by AR Rahman is a treat, and his background score is simply impeccable. The first two fights in the movie were taken to a whole new level with the background music.

Production values by Sun pictures are top-notch. Every single penny spent on the movie is clearly visible on the big screen. A lot of credit goes to the production department.

Final verdict:

Sarkar is a strong political drama which a decent premise but the weak narration is a big minus to the film. However, good performances from Vijay and Keerthy Suresh can help the movie in the B&C centers. The movie may perform well over the weekend, thanks to the Diwali holidays season.
