Sr NTR manages to defeat Congress in his first term after establishing TDP. However, he has enemies within the party and needs to overthrow them first to ensure his party’s image and credibility. What are the challenges he faces in the process? Who stands by him and support his cause? The answers to these questions should be catched on the big screens.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is a standout as his father Sr NTR. His portrayal of the legendary politician is very much believable and authentic. Balakrishna is one of the biggest assets of the film.

Vidya Balan is good in the role of Basavatharakam garu.  Her natural performance is a real bonus to this film.

Rana played the role of Chandrababu Naidu really well. His looks closely resemble that of the original’s, and he did a commendable job.

The film boasts of a huge star cast, and all of them played their parts well. This brings a lot of authenticity to the film, as a whole.

Technical Finesse:

Krish keeps things simple and crisp this time around. He mainly concentrates on NTR’s ideologies and his way of thinking. This will give a high to NTR’s fans and followers.

MM Keeravani did a fine job with the audio album, and his background score is also very good. The BGM has elevated the emotional track between NTR and Basavatharakam.

Production values are adequate for this technically rich biopic. The art direction department did a good job as well. The camera works are neat.

Final verdict:

Mahanayakudu is a well-made sequel of Kathanayakudu. It shows the political achievements of Sr NTR and the struggles he was put through. However, the film lags in a few parts in both the halves. The climax lacks the desired level of emotions. Regardless, Mahanayakudu will impress Sr NTR’s hardcore fans and followers.
