Akkineni Akhil is testing his luck with romantic drama, Mr. Majnu which is hitting the big screens across the globe today.
The young hero has a lot riding on this film, and he is pinning a lot of hopes on it. Read on to see whether he gets the much-needed breakthrough with the film.
Nicky(Nidhhi) is in search of an ideal person who would make a perfect husband. She idealizes him as Ramudu. One fine day, she comes across Vikky, a casual guy who is a charmer with women. They develop feelings for each other, but the clash of their ideologies and personalities lead to a few hurdles in their relationship. Will they be able to get back? What are the sacrifices they have to make? The answers to these questions form the remaining plot of the film.
Akhil looks charming in the role of a Casanova. He has developed grace and looks easy on the eyes, thanks to some excellent styling. He has shown signs of improvement when it comes to acting and screen presence. He excels in certain episodes, which pack emotional depth.
Nidhhi Agarwal is beautiful on the screen. She looks like a perfect match-up for Akhil. The chemistry between these two bangs on point and that is one of the biggest assets to the film. The young pair looked really confident in front of the camera.
The remaining star cast includes Nagababu, Priyadarshi, Hyper Aadi, and a few other noted actors. They play their roles well and try to increase the canvas of the film.
The director, Venky Atluri has picked the romantic genre again, after scoring a good hit with TholiPrema. He managed to get the best out of the actors. The emotions are pure in the first half. But the narration goes flat in the latter half when the film is approaching the climax.
Music by Thaman is very good. Four songs are good to hear, and they have been presented well on the big screen. His background score is also commendable.
Cinematography by George Williams is excellent. His camera works add a rich texture to the film. Many visuals look rich and appealing.
Mr. Majnu is a romantic drama that banks big on the chemistry between the lead pair and family emotions. The first box has been ticked off but the second one deserved better treatment. The movie does not have many high moments, but neither does it bore you at any point. It most certainly is a watchable youthful entertainer.
