Abhinetry 2, starring Prabhu Deva and Tamannah in the lead roles built up decent expectations thanks to some impressive promos.

The horror comedy hit the theaters today. Let us check how it is.

Story:

Prabhu Deva and Tamannah are a married couple who are leading their life in harmony. However, their personal lives hit a rough patch after Prabhu gets possessed with two different evil spirits named Ranga Reddy and Alex.

Prabhu and Tamannah will now have to figure out how to get out of this mess. The rest of the story reveals how they clear these hurdles.

Performances:

Tamannah is a standout performer in this horror comedy entertainer. Her glamour treat is just too good, and she flaunts her dancing prowess alongside Prabhu Deva.

Prabhu Deva is impressive in the role of a possessed person who is innocent at heart. He emotes well and does justice to the dual role characterization.

Nanditha Shwetha is really good in her role. She comes as a surprise package. Her natural acting is a big plus to the movie.

Technical Finesse:

The director Vijay picked an engaging plot but failed to write a convincing screenplay around it. He tries to blend in comedy and ends up dishing lengthy blocks that offer very little entertainment to the viewers.

The music is just about decent. The background score is good, though.

Camera works are good, and they carry the vibe of the film really well. A few sequences offer the edge of the seat experience.

Final verdict:

Abhinetry 2 is an underwhelming horror comedy that struggles to find momentum for most parts. The lead cast gives good performances, but their effort go in vain as the narrative is not so engaging.
